At Kindred Chiropractic we love to help teenagers reach their optimal potential and want those you love, no matter their age, to be happy and healthy. It is common to think of the teenage years revolving around parents, problems and hormones! Adolescence is a lifespan characterized by dramatic changes. Physical and behavioral development during adolescence is a brain-driven process, and it is the intelligent interaction between the nervous system and hormones that results in our delightful children becoming, hopefully, delightful teenagers and eventually independent adults. During these changes, it is important to maintain healthy spine and nervous system function to support healthy development.
WHAT DOES THE RESEARCH SAY?
It turns out that simply going through puberty isn’t a big enough job for our teenagers. Research tells us that adults are not the only ones that experience physical pain and dysfunction, but our teenagers do too. Teenagers commonly present with musculoskeletal health complaints, such as sports injuries, which when unresolved can affect their activity levels and mood. It is not uncommon to see they have been living with the complaint for more than 1 year before seeing a chiropractor. WE WANT TO CHANGE THIS! We are passionate about checking teenagers’ spines and nervous systems when they are feeling great, as well as when they are feeling less than great. As chiropractors, we know that how we feel, doesn’t always tell us about how well we are functioning. Some of the other complaints we commonly see among teenagers include anxiety, headaches and postural concerns.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
At Kindred Chiropractic we take great responsibility to ensure our teenagers’ spines and nervous systems are best supported through these pivotal years. We know being a parent is hard enough, let us do some of the work to support your teenager to reach their optimal potential. And don’t worry Mum and Dad, we know that as our teenagers are figuring out their world, you have to adjust alongside them. Navigating the new parent-adolescent relationship and the stressors that come with that can be hard! At Kindred Chiropractic we are passionate about the entire family having their spines and nervous systems checked by a chiropractor so you can all be the best versions of yourselves.
